Watchet is on the coast of the UK and stands on the Bristol Channel. The harbour is subject to the second highest rise and fall of tides anywhere in the world!
The Bristol Channel has a huge variety of fish species and although there is no commercial fishing allowed in the Bristol Channel, there are various day trips available where you can go sports fishing. This means that the fish which are caught are then put back into the water.
The Cod season is between August and May, with the best catches in the coldest months between October and January.
Sea Bass are available from May onward, with Rays (Thornback, Spotted and Small Eye Rays) available most of the year around.
