WEDNESDAY MARKETS

Wednesday Markets

There has been a market in Watchet since the 13th century and this tradition continues today with the lively and colourful Watchet Summer Market. The historic  market was held in the Market House which now houses the Town Museum.

Todays Market is situated  on  The Esplanade in brightly coloured gazebos overlooking the harbour and marina.

The Market starts in May and goes through the summer to September and traders are ready and waiting for you from 9.30am until 3.30pm.

Traders arrive to offer the best of local produce, craft, cheeses and chutneys, bakery goods, cakes and chocolate, garden plants, books, local art, gifts, antiques and curios and a fresh fish stall. There are also food traders and tea and coffee vendors for you to enjoy alfresco eating at the market.

The market season runs from May until September and stalls trade from 9:30am to 3.30pm.

New for 2022 is the Spring Market which is to be held on 13th April during the School Easter Holidays. Weather permitting and still to be confirmed, it is hoped to have some entertainment and/or activities for children at the same time.

You can get to the market by train using the WSR service from Minehead or Bishops Lydeard. You can walk, or travel by car. Car parking is in the Harbour Road Car park, but overflow car parking is on the old papermill site off Brendon Road and will be signposted.
