Somerset Day Celebrations

This year we will be celebrating Somerset Day on 4th May 2026! A little bit early for the actual day, but we've been lucky enough to be able secure a visit from the Somerset Dragon. Arriving by lorry on the morning of May 4th you will be able to see it from 10am to 3pm and the dance performers for a show at 12 noon.

We also have the Sailors Hobby Horse in Watchet for the morning. They will be walking the town centre circuit accompanied by drums at 10.30am and again at 11.30am.

A small makers market will accompany the Dragon which you will find on The Esplanade, Watchet from 10am until 3pm.

This will also be your opportunity to give the Somerset Dragon a name! Personally the fact that they are always on their back when they are displayed on bunting perhaps they should be called Blasé as they are so laid back!
