Watchet may be small, but unlike some small towns where choice is limited we are blessed with a really good selection of places to eat and hopefully something to every ones taste.
Chives, Helikers or the Marina Cafe are open for a traditional breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea. East Quay is also open for coffee and cake or something with a mediterranean flavour for lunch or dinner.
You can pick up a take out from Sam’s Deli, where the Homity Pie and Scotch eggs are made in store and are particularly delicious. Or a Bacon Butty from the Marina Cafe, one of my favourite breakfast treats!
Take your coffee and cake and sit with Yankee Jack on the Esplanade and watch the world go by.
For something a bit different Serendipity Cafe has pottery painting as well as cake and coffee. A great place to visit with friends or to one of their evening events.
If you’d prefer a pint with your lunch or dinner, you can find a wide range of menus in the local pubs from Pizza to Venison, check out The Star, The Bell or The London. If its early evening and your feeling peckish, the West Somerset Inn does a mean Burger.
For something a bit different we have The Spice Merchant for Curries, The Oriental Pearl for Chinese, East Quay Kitchen and The Cats Whiskers for Mediterranean.
And finally if you want to enjoy your food in the comfort of you own home, there are Fish and Chips from Andrews on Liddymore Road or from the Harbour Fish Bar on Market Street. Chinese from the Golden Bowl also on Liddymore Road or Kebab or delivery pizza from Pizza Time on Swain Street, love their curly fries!
